Not too long ago, Marvel announced its intent to produce a total of five seasons of television for digital distribution through Netflix’s streaming platform. The series – to focus on established comics characters Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke ‘Power Man’ Cage and Jessica Jones before bringing the four together in a final fifth season titled The Defenders – are to debut in 2015 and run over the next few years. But you knew all that already, right?
Ooh, it's all happening now. After the new season's teaser trailer earlier this week, BBC has finally confirmed a New Year's Day premiere for Sherlock's return to its home channel in the UK.
Looks like the cat's out of the bag on whether or not some incarnation of the Green Goblin will be appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 thanks to a banner poster that's appeared in a number of locations. Note: it's the first option. He's definitely in it. Expect no shortage of hovering green menace in next year's action sequel.
Yeah yeah, Doctor Who is all the rage this weekend, but for those of us who've outgrown our David Tennant jammies and waving a plastic screwdriver around (I swear to God I'm kidding, so please don't send me nasty letters or destroy my home please and thanks), Steven Moffat's true achievement is BBC's superb Sherlock. I can scarcely believe so much time has passed since the heart-stopping conclusion to season 2's "The Reichenbach Fall," but here we are. Sherlock's return is upon us, in more ways than one, and it just got all the more real with this brand new teaser trailer.
Despite rumors to the contrary from earlier this week, it has emerged today that Activision has in fact not sold the rights to Crash Bandicoot back to Sony and will "continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life." A pretty good way of doing so might be to not focus on the sort of games than could render it dead in the first place. Eh? Amiright? EH?
You know what was a surprise? How good The Wolverine was. Naturally, I'm thrilled to bits (and altogether less surprised) that a sequel is coming, and even though the first film is still fresh in our minds having only recently released on home media, it's never too early to start speculating about where things might go next.
The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus is the latest in a long line to be tipped to appear in The Crow, the reboot-cum-remake of the classic 1994 Brandon Lee vehicle of the same name. With Luke Evans having already been confirmed to star, it looks like Reedus will be taking on one of the film's villain roles, though it's uncertain which one he will play. If this remake is anything like the source material though (which means it'll borrow from James O'Barr's comic series, too), Reedus will at least have something to sink his teeth into.
With Sony's Playstation 4 releasing later this week and Microsoft's Xbox One set for later in the month, I thought it might be worth a look back on some of the other gaming machines that have debuted over the years with similarly high hopes only to be completely glossed over, misunderstood or generally forgotten about.
